Tips to manage your energy

How do you protect your energy and manage your positive mindset throughout the day?

Let me start by saying that I’m not somebody who thinks that you always have to be in a positive mindset. That’s not realistic or even healthy. However, when you find that you’re getting into a negative space, that you’re feeling anxious and you’re starting to feel the comparison kick in, a shift is required! The number one thing that we can do is acknowledge when we are not in a good space and try to figure out what we can calibrate so that we feel better

I acknowledge that sometimes that is much harder to do than other times. Often, it is self-induced anxiety and stress that we put on ourselves and a lack of intentionality on how we’re going to approach our day. That’s what I really want to dig into. I want to give you some of my favorite tips and tools on how to start, manage and end your day in a good space.

How To Start Your Day

The very first thing that I want you to think about not doing when you first wake up is to get on social media. Don’t check your email, don’t check your calendar. Just give yourself some space. Give yourself an opportunity to decide how the day is going to go before it all starts coming at you.

My favorite thing to do in the morning is to meditate. I love using Insight Timer. It’s a free collection of different spiritual advisors who all put their meditations onto this app. So, every morning I search for morning affirmations and I sit and listen for 10-20 minutes. I really encourage you to give this a try.

Next, I do some type of movement in the morning. I love to exercise in the morning. Any kind of physical movement or stretching is great.

Another thing that has been a complete game-changer for me – is not turning on the news in the morning. I check the news midday, and that has drastically improved my mornings. So, if there’s no compelling reason for you to have to know what’s happening in the world first thing in the morning, I’d really encourage you not to do it until later in the day.

Next, I map out my day in my planner, set my intention, and just make sure I’ve got my calendar right before I go.

How to Manage Your Day

I’m constantly checking my energy throughout the day.

The number one thing that tends to happen for me, and I’m guessing for a lot of social sellers is, I start to feel anxious, and it’s often by things that I see on social media.

So, one of the things that I’ve gotten better at is I’ve started to unfollow and mute. If someone is triggering me or I’m starting to compare myself to them, I hit the mute or the snooze button. I give myself a break. If somebody is really just not my cup of tea, I unfriend them, because we are not required to be friends with people on social media.

If I start to feel anxious throughout the day, I get off of social media. I get up, walk around and oftentimes I’ll do midday meditation. I find those to be the most helpful because my brain is tired and it just gives my brain a break for a little bit.

How to End Your Day

The last thing that I do at the end of my day, is I write down things I’m grateful for before I go to bed. I write everything I’m grateful for and I don’t stop until I fill the page up and then I go to bed.

Usually, as we get ready to call it a day and get to bed, our brain starts to remind us of all the things we didn’t get done, which is no way to go to sleep. You don’t want to activate your subconscious brain while you’re sleeping with your to-do list. So if you can, you can close down the day with gratitude. This way, your subconscious brain is set up for success as you sleep through the night.

Hopefully, this has sparked some curiosity in you and if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me.

In the meantime, remember, you are magnetic and people are waiting to hear what you have to say.

Love,

Tracey.
